Had an early start. After breakast we went down to Kensington Gardens and walked through to Hyde Park. We were catching the Tube to Covent Garden to have a wander around in that part of London.
On the way through Hyde Park we went past Rotten Row and the horse riding section of the park. As we passed by there were several police persons and some army personnel. They appeared to be preparing for some sort of official activity. As we watched the mounted Royal Horse Guard appeared. There is always something amazing happening in London.

We wandered on to Hyde Park Tube Station and caught the train to Covent Garden. We strolled around in the theatre district and found a map that gave us a walking tour of the whole area. We saw Charles Dickens magazine office, the Royal Opera, The Theatre Royal, the Bow Street Magistrates Court, the Adelphi Theatre, St Paul's Church (not the Cathedral), the pub where the first ever Punch and Judy Show was put on and a lot of other interesting places. Downstairs in the Covent Garden market hall were a string quartet playing classical music with a twist. They danced and gyrated with their instruments. A lot of fun. |

After leaving the theatre district we spent a few hours wndering around the city, then we went down to the Thames at Westminster and had a river cruise down to Greenwich. Another very relaxing trip on a boat. The cruise boats set off from the docks opposite the London Eye and just below the houses of Parliament and Big Ben. It was lovely. Got back to the hoel at about 6.00pm. Another long and tiring day.
